Lead Programmer – App / Games Industry – up to £70K DOE
A global mobile app gaming business in central London are actively seeking a Lead Programmer to take responsibility of building a new Server Team. This exciting role will not only run a growing department but also design and implement the backend for upcoming projects. Our client, a well recognised free to play mobile gaming business, have been operating for over a decade. The business boast some of the biggest downloads in the industry (over 500 million for some games) and have built a reputation for creativity, dedication and forward thinking in a competitive market place.
Following substantial growth, there is an urgent requirement for a Lead Programmer to be the focal point of communication across the business.
Reporting to the CTO, on a day to day basis this role will include:
- Managing an existing technical team
- Mentor junior programmers
- Assess technical project needs and contribute to coding best practice
- Constantly assess, review, amend development operations for success
- Take accountability for technical projects
In order to apply to this Lead Programmer role, we are looking for the following experience:
- Excellent experience programming within Java or node.js environments
- Experience on a SaaS solution, ideally serving at least 1 million users
- Proficient use of AWS: EC2, ED, DynamoDB, CloudWatch etc.
- Experience with Docker
- Knowledge of Redis
- Comfortable with C# (particularly in Unity 3D)
- CI (Continuous Integration) pipelines i.e. Jenkins
Additionally, you should be happy leading a team in an Agile environment and any experience working on a games based project would be of huge value.
